A worried owner.
I know this is probably nothing to worry about but I figured I would post anyways just to make sure nothing is wrong with her. Her Enclosure: Humidity is 48-50% normal. The temp dropped 3 days ago because the power went out and it slowly climbing back up. Im worried because she just shed and pooped and all that good stuff 4 days ago. I fed her the weekly mouse she gets only this time she has not been in either of her hides since. Every thing is clean. No poops in the hides or anything like that. She is just curled up in the corner of the cold side. She has been there for 2 full days and hasnt moved. Is this normal? I am concerned. She is NEVER outside of her hide unless she is scoping out her water or just after she craps. The temp in there right now is around 80 degress which I know is still a bit low but there is nothing I can do until it warms back up to its normal temp. I see no signs of RI, she is acting fine when handled. Just worried that she is in the corner. Is this normal? Tips appreciated.

Re: A worried owner.
As long as she is eating and not puking it back up, its not really a big deal. You can try putting the hide over the snake and see if that convinces her to use them again.
Why is it taking so long to heat the tank back up? Heating devices don't take more then a few hours to get back up to temp. 3 days is a bit excessive.

Yeah it should not be taking that long just to heat up. Are you using flexwatt?

It might be stress from the power going out and the sudden drop in temp. I know when I did something that was stressful to my snake, she wouldn't use her hides at all for a day or so, and just curl up in the corner of her cool side as well.
Just my own two cents being thrown out there due to my own observation on my snake.

Re: A worried owner.
What do you guys recommend for keeping a steady air temp in the enclosure? I have a UTH under one of her hides now. I want to try something new. Any suggestions?

Re: A worried owner.
For my set up, I use a UTH for her warm side, and one of those ceramic non-light emitting lights to help with her cool side. And the mix of the two are very nice. And I noticed that since I switched to the ceramic light, I don't struggle as much to try and keep up the humidity (though I still have to use a wet towel).

I am not using a Flexwatt. Where can you pick that up?

Re: A worried owner.
What kind of thermostat are you using? If you are using a digital thermostat, it is possible, depending on how long the power was out, that it reverted back to default settings. Check it and make sure...
