Front yard herping
So i'm watching Law & Order re-runs this afternoon after work, minding my own business when the dogs go on red alert at the front window. They saw this guy making his way across the yard...

He was heading for the road so we relocated him to a safe area. He was not happy to go for a truck ride.

just by the face I would assume that it is some sort of snapping turtle, wish I could be of more help. Glad you rescued him though and took him to a safe place.

Re: Front yard herping
those things are crazy, when i was younger i found one stuck in a tire someone threw away in a lake, even tho my brother and i freed him of that prison he just wanted to bite us. good job relocating.
A room full of empty racks and thermostats that have been unplugged.

Probably a 'her', looking for a nesting site? They're really cool animals. Stinky, though.

That's what I figured, seeing a lot of turtles on the road lately. Found a nice Eastern Box Turtle in our driveway Saturday which we relocated away from the roads.
