As for one rat not really being enough for scenting, the rat would be on the opposite side of my room (room isn't that big though) and I'd still smell the scent of rat no matter where I was in my room LOL. I moved him to the tv room (QT room) so I would have more space in my room (for you know what LOL... snakes everywhere!!).
