Acceptable Weight Difference?

I bought a 1400 gram albino and just weighed it.
It actually weighs 1238 grams (crap scale that I need to adjust for by 50 grams).
Do you think this is an acceptable difference in weight from what the ad stated?

It could have pooped since the add was placed, did the add state that the weight was on "empty", I wouldn't be upset over it. you are only looking at a diff of 162g.

It did deficate here.
The ad just said the weight.
My opinion is at this size, the weight difference is nothing to worry about. I just wanted to see what others had to say.

Steve I have received animals that were adults and the weight was either lighter or heavier. In this situation as long as she (assuming she is a she) is eating she will be plenty big enough for his season. I think your finally gonna have a bigger Albino to play with lol.

a snake in that weight range isn't a big deal with months before breeding season. if it was suppose to be a 300 gram snake and you got 150 gram snake that's a difference.I don't think that they was trying to pull something over on you and they most likely weigh the snake at the 1400 gram weight. I would be more concern with how well the snake eats. nice albino, good luck don

Passing waste is one way that a larger animal can loose a significant amount of weight. I have had some 2000 plus gram animals deficate and loose as much as 200 grams. Also, when receiving animals in a shipment, remember that they can start to dehydrate during shipping. With that said, remember that 1 milliliter of water is equal to 1 gram. Therefore, dehydration can be significant in smaller animals, as 10 mLs is not very much volume, but is equal to 10 grams. I often times will watch an animal drink from the water bowl immediately after being placed in a tub after shipping. Watch an adult drink water sometimes. I have seen girls drink as much as 25-50 mLs of water in one day. That could be as much as 50 grams.

p.s. It seems now a days that people are putting way to much emphasis on wieght, and don't take into consideration the appearance of the animal. Have you ever weighed yourself in the morning, and evening of the same day. I have seen as much as a 3% variance in my own weight based on how much water I did or didn't drink, as well as how much food I did or did not eat that day. 3% of the 1400 gram female is 42 grams.
