Question Help choosing the right boa?

Hey guys! I was thinking about getting a pair of boas and need some help... I really want to experience this live birth :-)!
Here's my criteria that it must meet for my purchase:
    1) must be able to be kept in a medium to large tub (23x16x12)
    2) must not be to big
    3) must be handleable
    4) prefer a good food response
    5) I like "blotchy" patterns
    6) not to expensive (200-$500 each preferably)
    7) looking for babies. (prefer to watch them grow myself)

    thanks, Jeremy.

According to your specifications, the best I can suggest is one of the smaller or "dwarf" species. These include most of the Central American Red Tails such as the Nicaraguan, Costa Rican, Panamanian, and some of the Mexican boas, as well as, the insular island boas, such as the Caulker Cay, Crawl Cay, Hogg Island, and Corn Island Boas. Generally, these will be in the 5'-6' range when they are adults.
The tub size you listed, would be able to hold a juvenile up to about 9-12 months old. Boas usually need about 1 square foot of floor space per 1 foot of length, or an easier way to look at it is the Length + Width of your enclosure should not be less than the length of the snake. So your tub dimensions could hold a boa about 36-39 inches in length.

The only boas I can think of that could live in a tub that size as an adult would be some of the sand boas that only get to around 3 feet as an adult.

    Hope this helps...
