    Running into a problem

I've had my normal girl about 2 1/2 months now. She for the most part has been eating 1 live adult mouse a week. I won't offer her anything if she has milky eyes but she has eaten going into shed just befire the eyes start to turn. Me being a new at this hobby also bought her with 2 small kinks in her tail & after reading these forums like the bible for the past 2 months now realize she has the spider like corkscrew problem. She has been shedding & gaining weight feeding on large mice so this past weekend I offered her a rat live prekilled & she looked at me like I was from mars. Today I offered her a mouse. She struck it killed it & then wrestled with it for 4 hours. She even started to swallow down to the front paws then spit it out a few times. I guess she got tired because now I have the dead mouse laying in her tank & she went back to sleep in her hide. I'll leave it in over night but if it's still there in the morning when is the next time I should try to feed her? She really was corkscrewing tonight after she killed it. Could this be getting worse as she gets older really effecting her eating ability?

Sounds like she just wasn't hungry. I'd leave it in there over night. If she doesn't eat it then toss it. And just feed her next feeding day. Don't stray from the schedule.

Maybe next time she eats once she Kills the mouse leave her alone. I have a few snakes who won't swallow when there being bothered. They want me to give them some privacy.

About the deformities. I wouldn't really worry to much about it. Just make sure she is never bred. And if I were you I'd be having a word or two with the one who you purchased it off of.

Yeah I wouldn't worry so much about it. As long as she didn't completely eat it and then throw it up she should be just fine. I'd just offer her food the next time she is scheduled to eat.

the corkscrew really doesn't have a negative effect on their well being. Chances are she changed her mind about eating or perhaps there was something wrong with that paticular mouse. As others stated...leave it overnight on the warm side...if it is still there in the morning throw it out and try next week.

As far as when she goes blue prior to shed ....you can still offer food...some take it and some do not.
