I understand that getting a female instead of a male mess up your breeding plans, I would be mad too. but don't trade a breeding size female for a male this would be another mistake. keep the female your breeding season is most likely towards the end and buy another male from someone else. The most the breeder would do is exchange it for a breeder male. which would make it even worse since you might have to wait until next year anyway. a breeding female is worth way more than a breeding male.

Yeah- if you really don't want her, I'd either resell it for cash, do a full trade for an orange ghost male + other animals you'd want for a fair trade value, or a partial trade or an orange ghost male + cash.

We all know mistakes happen, but yes, if the customer is not happy with the outcome of the sale, the seller should work with them to make it right.

Just because a female is worth more on the open market doesn't mean its worth more in anyone's specific collection.

Sorry to hear Thomas. That sucks........if you get eggs, hopefully the double hets hatch out with a good ratio for you though........half full brother, half full.

    Re: Always sex your snakes!!

I bought a pair of Pewters three yrs ago. A 1.1 pair that came from a good friend and breeder. He sexed both snakes in front of me at the show. I raised them up for two years and this season tried breeding them. As soon as I put the male in, things didnt go well. So I tried again a week later with the same results. I knew something was wrong. I probed them and were both males. Now I wasted two years of feeding and pushing a male to 1500 grams. The only difference my friend made the situation right. So always sex your snakes before breeding season. And remember males can sometimes really hold back there penes when popping them.

    Re: Always sex your snakes!!

I purchased an 06 het pied female 3 years ago from a breeder who I had purchased lots of other animals from. She was always a slow eater and I have been trying to get her to breeding weight. Over the winter she always stops eating and is slow to start in the spring. She weighs about 800 grams right now. Last night I was woken up by my boyfriend because he was practicing popping. He was going down the line in the rack and picked up Candy. Imagine his suprise when a big fat hemipene popped out!

So I have to call the breeder now and let him know what is going on. I never sexed the animal when I recieved it because I purchased probably 10 other animals from him and all the others have proved to be the proper sex.
