You should not go any longer than 4 1/2 to 5 weeks. Any longer than that, and they can start breeding at that age.
Ruddy teet leeches! I pull em when I catch them eating solid food and drinking from the bottle. Otherwise they will suck mom dry till college. I pull the big ones, and if there are a few smaller ones, I let them hang around a bit longer. Bruce
