    incubator fan questions

    guys can you give me info on how long do you keep your incubators fans on?
    do i keep it turned on 24/7 or just in a specific number of hours?

    i keep mine running 24/7 just make sure they dont put out heat on there own.

    I second this. I installed too large of fans in mine initially and they were keeping it too hot even without heat tape.

    24/7 so as to avoid any hot/cool spots

    All fans will generate some kind of heat from the bearings or bushings depending on the type of fan. Keep them on entire time for faster stabilized temps

    easiest way is buy a cheap 15$ computer power supply and jump it. then you can just plug the fans in as you need them.

    Or you could just get a fan that runs on AC. I use a 88mm AC fan in my incubator and wired it up with one of these AC fan cords http://www.amazon.com/AC-Fan-Power-C.../dp/B000BSLULO
    Although you don't need the AC fan cord. You could just buy a 1$ extension cord, cut off the female end and wire the fan into that.
