Can you house Bloods in a BP rack?

I am about to purchase some CB70's from reptile basics, I was wondering can an adult Blood python thrive in one of these or is it to small? If it is is there a better closed air rack set up for Bloods?



I am very interested in adding blood and carpets to my collection but unsure of the best housing methods. Any tips would be welcome. I know a CB70 might be big for a baby but I plan to add lots of extra clutter and hides. I have had success keeping baby snakes in adult enclosures with this method and am not well off enough to afford grow up cages.

You could likely make it to 16 months to 2 years if lucky but that will end up being too small in the end..

Ah thats what I was afraid of, can you recommend an enclosure?

My home is rather cold I am afraid I like racks to keep the ambient higher.


Any recommendations for good caging?

Many a keeper like the VE 175 tubs from Iris which show up around Christmas time for about 25 bucks from wally world/ wal mart and animal plastics makes a very nice rack for the container..Or Vison boa tubs and rack..
I myself am a cage fan...Trevor will likely catch this and give more info yet..

ISn't it harder to get a cage to a proper temperature varient? I like cages to. But I don't have a separately heated room, or the ability currently to have a heated room.

Well, all I say is if one is going to meet with success of keeping tropical type animals, one has to be able to provide the proper conditions..To not do increases the chances of something going wrong..Most folks do heat or cool the room depending on the season..

You could probably get away with it for a while just by growing them a little slower and not feeding them so often. I got some short tails in a year or so ago that were 1-2 years older than the oldest one I already had, and were actually a little smaller. In the time I've had them the male has stayed about the same length but definitely put on some weight, and the female just exploded in both length and girth. The main thing would be to avoid overfeeding them.

It is heated just the same temperature as the rest of the house

But currently my BP is in a cage and I use two UTH's to get her temperatures correct.

I am sure there are people keeping blood python's correctly that aren't rich enough to afford a separately heated snake room. I was wondering how they get there temps right and the type of housing they use.
