Can you even buy those anymore? Mine is 4 years old and has the intel chip.

Re: Calling all Mac users
I would imagine since Adobe just announced this bit of information. I know nothing about Mac's though so you're asking the wrong person.
But being tight with Adobe, I know what they have going on.

I believe they stopped using the power-pc platform after first introducing the intel chip in the macbook line. I'm pretty sure even the towers are intel based now.

Re: Calling all Mac users
The last power pc was the G5 of 2005 I think. I have one on my desk at work and it is still faster running photoshop than the new dell laptop work bought for me. Adobe dropping the power pc is no worse than not supporting 98. Not a problem. Aleria bootcamp runs windows well, but who would want to?

Haha, right there with you on that one.
I haven't had windows installed on one of my macs in almost 2 years now. It seems enough of the gaming companies actually have been realizing that macs are good gaming machines and are releasing them for mac just as fast as pc.

Re: Calling all Mac users
Well that's mainly due to the fact that the requirements for games changes so much. It would be hard to design a game for a Mac because it would potentially only run well on specific versions of Macs and may not work at all going forward. That's been the big issue anyway. I think it's pretty sweet that Mac users now have Steam.

Yeah, it seems now that Apple has started moving more into the mainstream rather than trying to be so "out there" and proprietary, it is becoming a lot easier for the software companies to port the software over with little to no work at all.

This won't affect you at all... unless you are using a mac from several years ago...
