I agree with this completely. If for some reason I had to cut my collection down I would probably still have at least 25 ball pythons. Mona Lisa (normal) is my first and she has my heart, but Bertha(normal) is the biggest ball I have personally seen and she has such a laid back personality, Lucky is the first ball that laid eggs for us so she has sentimental value of more than the average breeder normal. Then theirs Jacki our pastel axanthic we produced in 2008, and the pied pair we just got....the list goes on and on and I think that makes it hard for me. We have been breeding balls for about 4 years now and alot of our animals we personally produced or we worked our tails off to be able to purchase. I think I get more attatched also because they are not numbers to me(even though I would like to one day make a profit at breeding them). Everyone gets a name and most of the animals I can look at them and tell you their names.
So to get back to the origonal question I really think that at least 1/2 of my breeders would end up as keepers.
