Best local pet shop a few pics

    lol not

I wont mention the name of where these are from. But yea lets just say the owner of this place is a well know "herp expert" here in ohio

Im not expert but in these pics you can clearly see bunch of old shed, fescies, and empty water bowl with nothing but bedding in it. I thought maybe its just like that when i go there. But its like that no matter what day of the week or time you go in This is worse then most of ur chain pet stores :/

That looks horrible.. I can't believe someone with so much rep would end up having their larger constrictors like this. Very much of a shame.

I work in a privately owned store, and I'll be the first to admit that it is difficult to keep up with every single cage. But honestly, that's ridiculous!

We do waters every day, and rat/mouse rack waters every other day. The big snakes/lizards upstairs get new water every few days and when a tank is nasty, we clean it. It's not that hard to do as long as you keep up with it.

Next time you go in, maybe volunteer your services to help out around the store on the weekends or something. If the owner lets you, you'll not only be doing him/her a huge favor, but those animals as well.

And who knows, maybe it will turn into a part time job!

I agree. I bet it is a lot of work. But the fact is its like that EVERY TIME iv been in there. I go in maybe once or twice a week. For the past 3 weeks.

I know these big burms are not shedding 2x a week. So there is no excuse for the cages to still have shed in them 3 weeks later.

Not to mention in on u see a dry empty bowl of water with nothing but bedding..

Not sure how long its been like that but the cage looked dry so i doubt they tipped it and then tipped it right side up and filled it with bedding

That's nasty. There is a pet shop in my area that doesn't even provide their bigger bps with water dishes. They house 2-3 adult bps per tank with no hides, no water, only CEDAR bedding with a bright light and no heat source. I hope that they are moved at night, but for some reason I doubt it.
