how to prevent drying of cut eggs?

i read somewhere(cant remember) that to prevent the yolk from drying up you add water to it. does this mean adding water to the egg tub or adding water to the cut egg itself? thanks.

Basically you take water a pour it into the open egg. I prefer bottled water but to each his own..

Keep in mind, in my own personal opinion, if you wait until they start pipping to cut, and you only cut a flap there really isn't much reason to add water.

Its only when you cut early or cut too much that it really becomes an issue.

Re: how to prevent drying of cut eggs?

    Hi,

I spritz from a plant sprayer if they hang out in the eggs long enough for it to be a problem - and if anything like a dry layer or "scum" forms I use a toothpick to remove it if the water can't wash it out.

I just pour a little water into the open egg, yep. Never had any problems.

I keep a water bottle in my incubator. You can fill up the egg once you cut them and you can also spray the eggs with water at any time.
