    Blood by the mouse

Okay I feed ft to start with, now she took the first with a powerful motion and she seemed interested in the second but didn't take it.

So I went down once an hour and zombie danced it abit. When I last went down I had left it draped on top of her hide over the entrance. She's been in that hide for a week.

When I cam down it was knocked off and there were three drops of blood. I don't know if it was from her or the mouse and I don't know if I should pull her hide off and check her since she ate one.

I don't wanna regurg but she makes me so worried spending all of her time in her cool hide.

    Re: Blood by the mouse

It's probably from the mouse. It have seen blood occassionally come from some of my f/t's when thawed...

It was three distinct drops. I noticed some blood on it's nose. I was just worried she struck at it and maybe hurt herself on her hide.

I wasn't sure they still bled.

    Re: Blood by the mouse

I second it was probly from the mouse. I've thawed out rats before and seen blood on the snakes substrate, then I looked at the rats nose and it was from there.

    Re: Blood by the mouse

When you thaw f/t they often bleed from the nose sort of like thawing a steak. I would think it was from the mouse.

    Re: Blood by the mouse

I've had blood spray from their nose during constriction. Makes the tank look like a crime scene and a mess to clean up. I think it's because the blood vessels rupture during the freezing and thawing process...

    Re: Blood by the mouse

It has already been said, but it was more than likely from the mouse. I fed one of my guys a big F/T rat last night, and when I just checked on him there was a huge blood smear right where he struck.

    Nothing to worry about.
