Need help on getting a skinny, baby Burm to eat!

At the reptile sanctuary, there is this small albino Burm, about a foot and a half to two feet long, that is fairly skinny and won't eat for me. I fed the baby Burms last week and this week. This baby did not take anything that was given. Keep in mind these baby Burms came from the Texas seizure.

I tried F/T, live, and assist feeding but he isn't taking anything. I asked to take him home to see if I can get him to start eating, and they said I could try and see what happens. So I set him up in a 15qt tub.

Originally he was in a 34qt with another Burm which had a lot of room so I'm guessing a large amount of stress has to be in this. His temps are about 88F on the warm end. He's got a UTH with a thermostat and I'm reading the temps off of a digital thermometer. I have him on cypress mulch with a fair sized water dish he can fit into and a hide he can curl up in. His humidity is about 60%+.

So, I don't normally ask for help on problem feeders because I've been through that and know what to do, but this is a bit extreme. I assume it might die, but I'll always give it a try and see if I can help this little guy. I won't be keeping him at all so you all know.

I'll be keeping his weight written down weekly. I haven't recorded it yet but I will in the next few days. He is also a little hisser, very cute LOL.

I would try the substrate and or tub switch if you haven't ...sometimes I forget to try that and it can be magic. Best of luck on your efforts.

Yes I switched over to a smaller tub for him. He is now in a 15qt with a hide and warm side of 88F in the hide, before he had just substrate and a dish in a big 34qt with another Burm so hopefully the stress of another animal with him and a large enclosure will decrease.

All the baby Burms are about his size (not skinny though) and are fed two adult mice (F/T). We tried a live hopper but he just would not go for it. Once he's settled in I'm going to try a rat, just because of the different smell and more nutrients.

put him in a dark pillowcase with a live pinky overnight. Also I have found that with some of my stubborn feeders if they wont take rats they will take newborn rabbits.

Will that really work? I haven't had him a week just yet, but I will consider doing so. Next time I get feeders is Sunday, so I'll tell my mom to get a rat pink and I'll do as you said.

just my input here but you feed newborn rabbits?!I know that snakes have to eat and im fine with adult f/t rabbits but a newborn live baby rabbit? Where do you buy those anyways?

It's the same as feeding an newborn rat or mouse, they are all cute (sort of). You can normally get them at reptile stores if they breed rabbits or sell F/T ones.
