When to feed
We just produced our first clutch this morning. How long do you wait till you offer the momma her first meal?

Re: When to feed
YOu can offer same day but i wait usually 5 days after laying to give rest.
Be sure to wash the female off with either antibacterial soap or chlorhexidine to get the egg smell off her.

I used Dial Liquid Antibacterial soap. Get a rag wet with warm water and lather soap in it. Then let the snake run through it few times, after then dry her off.

Re: When to feed
I am assuming that the reason for this is the smell will make the rats think there is food and they will attack or is there a different reason?

Re: When to feed
It's good to at least rinse them and the cage to avoid undue stress.
I offered my girl food two days later, and my god you could tell she was HUNGRY! Remember it's also good to feed her a slightly smaller sized prey item than usual. She hasn't ate for quite a while and you don't want to overload her system.
