    corn off feed

so as my other post stated, my corns are going crazy, the are calming down, but my first corn, my candy cane, hasn't ate for whats going on 4 weeks, I have never heard of a corn missing a meal, well mine anyway, the ranco is set on 79, it kees the temp 82, my ambiant temps high because of the lizards MVB bulbs, any ideal usally, get a smaller adult mouse once a week, or some times he will take 2 a week, he seem like he wants it but them backs away, i wonder if its the new mice i got, well they are from same guy but these were a tad smaller, this time. any help

I assume you have ruled a shed out.

How is it's hide situation? Plenty of tight hides? Plenty of privacy?

I know my milksnake neeeeeds it's privacy. Typtically I will have to leave it's meal infront of it's hide and shut it's cage. Sometimes even drape a trashbag over the glass front to give abit more seclusion. Of course I feed f/t you know as well as I do you couldn't do that with live.

It's just odd that that would happen with no real changes? Granted I don't own a corn but there eating habits aren't drastically different from Lampropethis I don't think.

it hasn't shed since march, has hide, but slides it around and uses substrate to hide in, its in a rack, i could put a trsh bag in front of it. to be honest i thought it had to grow to shed, and it hasn't ate any to grow and no signs from eyes or anything

Possibly he's just refusing because its breeding season. Some male corns will go off feed as they're more worried about breeding than feeding. Not that uncommon.

So long as he's not losing weight and appears outwardly healthy, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

i weighed him once, he's a rocket ship, no way in heck i can get him to stay good, to put him in the bowl to weigh, by just looking at him, he seems a wee smaller, but nothing scary looking, actuall blue apple, its the same corn you helped me with way back, your advice was perfect and thats how i try to keep him

Glad to hear he ate for you! Sometimes they just don't like to do things by the book - I often think that they enjoy making life a little more stressful for us.
