    Awful.

Maybe this will be a wake up call that we need to start finding cleaner alternatives for energy as in 15 years ago.

Wow, at my job we have something called worse case scenarios. "if this happened we would do this" if that happened we would do that"...
Kinda makes you wonder how they get away with doing something that has absolutely no failsafe.

There were fail safes they all failed.

I work in the drilling industry on shore, this is purely my opinion and have only my experience to base this off from.

Halliburton did the cement job 20 some hours before the well blew out, there is no way that they are responsible. That would be like you throwing a bunch of rocks in a dumpster then 24 hours later it catches fire and you get blamed.

The Blow Out Preventer (BOP) failed a safety test (hydraulic leak) with-in about 12 hours of the accident (I think I might be wrong on my time frame). The inspector from the gov. was there and signed off on the safety

British petroleum is at fault because they allowed the rig to operate without repairing the BOP.

The federal gov had a plan that was developed in 1994 that put "scrubber" boats in the Gulf. The operation requires two boats, they only had one. This allowed the oil to get to our shores. You can't really blame this administration solely, Obamas not in charge of boats in the gulf. You can blame the guy who is in charge of that missing boat, he was white water rafting in the grand canyon with his family a week after the spill started. The federal gov can be blamed on several levels but they didn't cause the fire that eventually caused rig to go down and create the spill.

I do not know all the players in this game those are the ones that I have learned enough about to not be talking out of turn. In summery the people responsible for the financial side of the spill... BP

We need to hold our federal administrators responsible for their part. The man in charge of the gulf coast should be fired. The man who was white water rafting with his wife during this accident should be fired.

The federal safety inspector, the safety inspector on the rig, the on-site BP representative, and the company that owns and tested the BOP, that signed off on the BOP should be held to the highest level of responsibility, they ultimately caused this accident.

I am "working" right now and have been interrupted several times, this started out as a much better post
