and almost lost the entire group over night. the free rack I was given ( and had to rewire the cord ) either needs a new cord altogether or the flexwatt inside the back( between the 2 layers) is shot.. I checked the snakes this morning and they were bearly about 68 degrees with the temp gun. it seemd that the heating unit is no good and I don't have a 4th thermostat on hand ( the reptile retro one is not trustable in my book, and only used with a heating pad on low when needed.
so needless to say a quick trip to the vet and some bloodtest, a ( rump swipe don't ask they more less flushed fuilds u pthe snakes rear and got a sample to do test ) and a quick going over and they were sent home and I was 100 bucks poorer lol. I got a good deal since the vet knows I do rescues alot and he will refer people to me at times.
needless to say they in the snake room on the farther wall away from the others and are just waiting for a clean bill call. ( I did cheat some and set up a small fan that blows air fro mtheir cage out though a vent, and as always I pretreat the tubs for mites so even if not visible they dying off.
I can say by the way they inhaled the rodents they healthy just a little pissed off and got sore rumps![]()
