How do you keep the flies at bay?

I clean out my ASF racks once a week and keep them in my garage. My wife was wondering what we can do to help keep the flies away so I figured I would post here to see what everyone else does if anything. Thanks in advance for any input.

Why do you have flies at all?! please explain your setup in detail, including your garage.

Re: How do you keep the flies at bay?

    Here is my setup.

I live in Oklahoma where the flies are bad anyway. And we only have a few flies around the racks, but I was just trying to see if anyone else has ever had any problems with flies.

I have the racks out in my three car garage it is around 80 degrees here now and the flies are out. I have four children also and they keep the garage door open most of the time. I have all of my snakes in my reptile room but my wife doesn't want me keeping the ASF's in the house which is fine. she has noticed a few flies hanging out by the rats and was wondering if there was something we could do to keep them away. Flies carry diseases and we don't want the ASF's to catch anything and then pass it on to the snakes. That is our only concern. Thanks.

I work at Red Lobster and every summer we have a really bad problem with flies. Those sticky fly traps that you hang from the ceiling seem to work really well. Put like 3 of em in there and you should notice a big difference.

there was one summer when some flies got in the garage when cleaning and they seemed to multiply. the hanging sticky things got rid of them very quickly.

Thanks for the replies. I have hung some of the sticky fly traps and seems to be doing a great job.

there is a product called "Golden Marlin" that works good..its a bait...The fly sticks are good also, just make sure you get the ones with the fly Pheromones, to attract.
