    BPs and ACs

As i gets warmer i will be using an air conditioner pretty much constantly. As a result the ambient temp in the room will be rather cold. Is there a way to remedy this or will i need to move them to a different room.

    thanks

You could always go pick up a ceramic heat emitter or a heat lamp to help with the ambient temps, but this might not really help if the room gets way too cold. Especially if you're using a tank.

    Hi,
We keep it cold in our house as well. I run a UTH and x2 CHE's 1(white) for day and 1(red) for night since at night we crank the AC down.

I was wondering the same thing about the AC. I debated not even putting it in, but I think I might, and if it does get to cold for the snake I'll take it out and switch to just the fan. ^^;; But I know she'll have her uth, and I plan on getting one of those ceramic light heater things. So I'll try that out myself.

I had to move mine to another room and put a vent magnet up to block the air in the room some...

I just have the vent partially closed off in the room with snakes and used oscillating fans. If it starts getting too warm in there I'll just open the door a little and let some of the cooler air from the house into the room to cool it down a bit...

How cold is rather cold? Room temps down to 68 shouldn't be a problem, that's usually as warm as it gets at my house in the winter with it dropping lower then that at night. As long as the cage is warmer with a decent sized hot spot it should be fine.

Save some money and don't freeze your house so much. Thermostats are a great thing!

CHE's don't put out any light

I keep the AC on in the same room as my snakes almost year round (yes even through the winter). The room they are in has no windows to the outside and has 4 computers running 24/7 in it. The room gets to about 75* with the AC on. Just get a thermometer for the ambient room temp and adjust the air vent and fans accordingly. I try to keep the room between 70-80*.

Excuse me trying to learn. The CHE isn't the bulb's fixture? Educate me.
I have 2 ceramic 8.5 75w white day and a 75w infrared night. Seems to me that would be a "CHE" it's ceramic and with a correct bulb its a heat emitter.
