    Sound good ?

I checked the local guide ( it a large newspaper type cassifly that comes out every week.) and there is a guy selling normal bp for abotu 30 buck each . I called just to check it out figuring the guy got a single or a pair of snake that were the kids and trying to move them. I talked to the guy about 10 minutes on the phone he trying to move some sub adult and adult bps to make room for higher end morphs. I thinking to go and check them out and see if they are true adult bps.I can always use an extra couple females. In my area the prices and all sound too good to be true. since in a pet shop a young bp runs about 90-125 bucks for a normal. the guy also let me know that a local feed store has the mazuri for about 14 bucks for a 25 lb bag.. Which in it self would be a great help since I would not have to rely on my friend ot pick it up and then make a trip 2 hours down to me .. I looking right now at having about enough to pick up 4 snakes and and if Imake sure they all females then I be set for later on lol.. ( I do know i need ot QT then and all, I am planning until August or september at least .)

I also got this rack I can rewire up and set them in the living room or my bed room as a QT room for them. until I am sure they fit in place with the others and are healthy.

So does the dea lsound too sweet??

Not in my area it isn't.

I'm located in Ohio, and you can get a normal ball python for around $20.00... But coming up just to look at them wouldn't hurt too much, would it?

    Re: Sound good ?

well i had enough spare funds( got 2 check waiting to clear the bank lol or I gotten all 4 females) for 3 of the adult females. and they all normal in looks one is possible 50% het albino( forgot which one lol need to figure out what the markers are) bu they weighted in at the following weights
1801 1452 and 1277 all in grams the guy said that 2 were proven breeders but hte het had not proven out for him cause he breed her to another possible het I think he said) 2 years.. I figuer i toss the albino male in with the 3 next ear for the giggles and see ifI get an albino or 3. but got 90 bucks I think I got a great deal on 3 nice sized snakes. Now the long 3 months ( roughly) QT in the bedroom. I just hope this rack heating unit isstill working since the cord was cut so short. I betting it didn't heat high enough for the rack unit ( back heat.) and if so I just wire up some flex and set the girls up on it tomorrow.

    Re: Sound good ?

and almost lost the entire group over night. the free rack I was given ( and had to rewire the cord ) either needs a new cord altogether or the flexwatt inside the back( between the 2 layers) is shot.. I checked the snakes this morning and they were bearly about 68 degrees with the temp gun. it seemd that the heating unit is no good and I don't have a 4th thermostat on hand ( the reptile retro one is not trustable in my book, and only used with a heating pad on low when needed.

so needless to say a quick trip to the vet and some bloodtest, a ( rump swipe don't ask they more less flushed fuilds u pthe snakes rear and got a sample to do test ) and a quick going over and they were sent home and I was 100 bucks poorer lol. I got a good deal since the vet knows I do rescues alot and he will refer people to me at times.

needless to say they in the snake room on the farther wall away from the others and are just waiting for a clean bill call. ( I did cheat some and set up a small fan that blows air fro mtheir cage out though a vent, and as always I pretreat the tubs for mites so even if not visible they dying off.

I can say by the way they inhaled the rodents they healthy just a little pissed off and got sore rumps
