Seems kinda early to see dimpling. That makes me think humidity is low or maybe too much air movement.
Personally I always place my eggs in the vermiculite directly and have never had any problem whatsoever. I would add more water to vermiculite since its substrateless, as longs as water dosen't touch eggs you should be fine.
