Just out of curiousity, is this scientifically proven? From a biological view, severing ones brain from the body leaves only muscle contractions and no more nerve-ending stimuly. Hence 'no more pain' or at least a realisation of pain.
I am not a major in biology or anything like that, nor is english my main language, but this is just my understanding of that situation.
