    Re: Picky Male

He took two small rats in March. And no, he's actually not that big. The vet estimated him to be about five y/o. I'm not sure of his weight but he should be on med. rats. His old owner was just ignorant.

Husbandry is fine. 92-94 hot spot, 80-85 ambient temps, 65-70 humidity. Newspaper for substrate, water dish, one hide, accurite therm/hygrom.

And yes, I have a female as well. They were rescued at the same time from the same woman who had been keeping them in a 55 gallon tank without heat, hides, and humidity. They were both sick with RIs and my female had mouth rot from a rat bite (DUH thats what happens when you leave two large rats in your enclosure overnight with sick snakes). Zeus is kept on top of a dresser and Louise is in the spot where a drawer would have been.

My female is kept in the exact same set up and she eats every week without fail.

*Edit* Louise is a bit larger but likes less space so she's kept in a 34qt tub, and Zeus constantly tried to escape his 34qt so we uped him to a 40qt. It has a bit more space and he adjusted to it almost immediately.
