Re: New
thats a good pic of a setup. my set up differs slightly but it works. i have a front opening terrarium. im using cypress mulch from lowe's, 2 water dishes from reptilesupply.com & 2 identical hide boxes from reptilebasics.com. i also have a paper background covering 3 sides of the glass & a UTH underneath the whole terrarium on 1 side. i ended up having to use small pieces of sheet rock (or drywall) to prop up the terrarium to keep the UTH off my dresser surface. im also gonna get a reptitemp 500r thermostat to control the UTH. im gonna get an accu-rite digital thermometer from home depot to keep tabs on the temps & humidity within this enclosure. & i think that about does it, other then the temp gun i plan on getting to keep tabs on the surface temp of the substrate where the snake will be.
my current collection
1.2 kiddos
1.0 better half
0.1 mojave ball python (Nyx)
0.1 Dumerils Boa (Hemera)
1.0 Eastern Box turtle
3.4.? rats (? = litter coming any day now)
0.1 dutch rabbit (Lucy)
my "future hopefuls"
0.0.1 pied cockatiel 0.0.1 white bellied caique 0.0.2 guinea pigs

Why do you have two water bowls?

Re: New
well it was suggested to me awhile ago that i get 2...um, 1 on the warm side to create humidity & the other on the the cool side for drinking.

Re: New
There is nothing wrong with using 2 bowls, if they are needed. Due to my location, I am running 2 oscillating fans and a ceiling fan in the snake room to keep the humidity down, but in the winter, I use a little larger water bowls...

I figured I'd throw it in cuz he did ask about the best. It seems to be the consensus of the community that tubs are best.
That's a sweet diagram, btw.
