    Is this mold?

Does this look like mold forming? If so, is there anything that can be done to get rid of the mold without harming the eggs? This is the only place I see any possible mold in the tub or on any of the eggs. Now these eggs were fairly dirty because I originally had my vermiculite too wet, which left some stains on the eggs that I KNOW are only from that. This spot, however, has been getting darker. What do you think, and is there anything that can be done if it is mold?

These eggs are on day 19 of incubation.

It does look like mold, or perhaps fungus. Wipe it off.You can get some powder for athletes foot, and get a q-tip, and rub a small amount on the spot.

    Re: Is this mold?

Like snakelady said. Athletes foot powder is what I use. If its a good egg the mold shouldnt get very bad or spread much but if it gets green/black and fuzzy its most likely a bad egg. They look fine to me right now but if it looks bad to you or bothers you just use the powder trick.

I don't have any athlete's foot powder on hand (not that it would be difficult to go get), but I do have a cream that is for athletes foot. "Tolnaftate" is the active ingredient. Do you see any possible problem in using this cream instead of the powder?

Those eggs are very porous so Id be worried about using a cream unless someone else has had success with it.

I'll take that as a compliment.

I have a French friend, she always calls me that instead of Danny, She says is similar to "Danny" in French. I'm not sure how to spell it out for you, maybe Dan-nou-net? Anyways It has stuck around for me as a Screen name since whatever I try is always already taken and "Danounet" never is. No one calls me that, just her.
