    Breeding? jw

    Well i got a question. I have a small male about 700 grams and a female of 2000 grams do u think i can pair them?
    0.1 Sub Adult BP
    1.0 Baby BP

    I have had males breed in the 350 grams area and you can breed a female at 1000 grams but most people wait til about 1500 grams... So yes you can pair them.

    Probably yes since size-wise that's fine. Though you might want to wait until the Fall (the next breeding season). Some people have success breeding Ball Pythons out of season, but some people don't...

    The only issue you may have with size is the intimidation factor. Sometimes the female can intimidate a first timer. It isn't often but it does happen. Also age will come into play. If he is mature enough to mate or not. So pair up and see what happens.

    I won't hurt to try, but I did notice my little Napoleon-BP got intimidated by the big girls. However, my other guy who was around 200 grams heavier went to town on the girls even though they were more than twice his size. I even tried placing him (Napoleon) in the locking position to help him out and it didn't work and I knew it wouldn't, but I was being a goob...
