    What are the chances??

I wasn't planning on breeding my BP's till next season but a wise friend mentioned the weights were right and the females were acting like they could be ready. I've been tossing in my Lesser with my Mojo and tonight I witnessed snakey-sex Felt like a peeping-Tom, but was stoked none the less. If I'm correct this is late in the season, should I prepare for eggs or just figure they're just having fun practicing? I was thinking about keeping on tossing him in with the others too to see what happens because all my girls are still off feed and bowl cuddling. Suggestions and thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance...

What is the weight of the female, and age? She can become gravid any time they have a lock. You should get an incubator ready just in case!

If the females are breeding weight and you saw a lock then you will want to have a bator ready within 2 to 3 months at most. You may notice a build, glowing and an ovy before long. If she sheds and then swells up like she swallowed a football you should be expecting eggs within 2 months or so of the pre ovy shed.

My Mojo is a petite 1700 grams, my Pin is a plump 1825 grams and my Spider is an anemic 1300 grams. The Lesser-Daddy is a Napoleon-sized 875 grams, but doing his duty well from what I can tell..

    Re: What are the chances??

I'd say the chances are pretty good. I haven't bred BP's yet (plan on it soon) but I've done ALOT of research and from what I've gathered, Females should be atleast 1500 grams, some have bred and produced at 1200-1300 before with no problems.

So, if I were you..I'd be pretty darn Happy...and like the others have said, Get the bator ready!!!!

Also, BP's can be bred anytime of the year. A little artificial season changes will do the trick...

    Good luck with everything.

    Re: What are the chances??

Okay...So they're still at it...Wooo hoo...I just took my little Pastel Lesser and dumped him in the mix to see if he can figure out what to do...

However, I've used the "Search" button and now was hoping for some incubator suggestions, since I got around 2 -3 months before hopefully little ones...

I've been trying to reach Jake from J.W. Exotics (but his schedule is full from what his website says), Big Apple doesn't have any yet (tried calling and got shot down), Nature's Spirit didn't return e-mails or calls and I really don't want to use a Hovabator or make my own...Suggestions would be greatly appreciated...THANKS IN ADVANCE

    Re: What are the chances??

I'm planning on picking up one of those new Repti-Bators that ZooMed put out.

If it functions as promised, it's a fantastic deal.
