Pricing.
Hey all! so I'm hoping to aquire an albino and a Jungle pastel as soon as they become available, was just wondering whats a good price to save for?
I was thinking somewhere in the area of 700$ or so for the pair of them. I want females for both. I'm just looking for a ball park figure here nothing exact.
thanks.
David.

Re: Pricing.
700.00 should be a sufficient amount to do the job. It will also depend on whether you want quality animals or just a bargain price. High quality usually cost more. Especially in females.

700 sounds good, all depends also where you plan to purchase them from, web, or show and you may even find a breeder to give u a package deal ..... I got a lesser male and a spider female $525 at a show from a reputable breeder in a package deal.

Re: Pricing.
I have seen female albino's from 400-700 in price range, and pastels anywhere from 75- 200 and up depending on age and quality. So 700 should get you mid range animals.

Re: Pricing.
Yeah thats a good range for some nice hatclings, of course the bigger they are the more expensive, but you could get some awesome babies with $700.

Re: Pricing.
Yeah I want hatchlings. 700+ is the goal then!
Now the other question... putting deal idea aside which is better. getting them at a show or from a breeders website.

that's going to depend on where you find what you want..I like to buy from breeder's I've never dealt with at a show first, simply because I can lay hands on the animal and make sure it healthy. However there are some breeders that I would buy from online in a heart beat.
So do both. Scorer the net and go to shows..have money ready so when you find the one you want you can pull the trigger right then..

Whether you get them at a show or from a website, I would think that you would get better quality and service from the breeder who actually hatched them, or at least, has had them long enough to provide you with a history of the animal, as far as any feeding or health issues. Some vendors will get their animals through trades or wholesale lots and not know alot about the animal. I would say, when you start looking, spend alot of time on the phone in direct contact with the vendors. Also, some may only update their websites once a month or so.Just because they aren't currently listed doesn't mean they don't have one available. It never hurts to ask. You can also go to the BOI at Fauna Classifieds and see what kind of reputation alot of the breeders and vendors have. You can also post a "Wanted" ad in the Classifieds section of Forums or some of the sales websites, like Kingsnake or Fauna, and someone who has what you're looking for may contact you...

Re: Pricing.
I recommend shows! You get to see what you are getting right in front of you, you can ask the breeder any questions plus the prices are usually better and there is no shipping charge!
