How do I get my BP out of a log?

I have a bottomless log hide that she has been in constantly since she began the shedding process a day or two ago. Her eyes have just begun to turn and shehasn't been very active at all. I want to hold her for a few minutes because I want to document how her color changes during this process. Only problem is, I can't get her out of the log. How do I do this without getting my finger bit off?

submerge the log in a peaceful environment.

Naturally the snake will have to come out/up for air. I say in a peaceful environment to ensure the sname is not overly 'spoked' making it stay in the hide to long.

    Don't submerge anything.

    Leave her alone.

then, once she has left the log of her own accord, replace it with something you can lift off, open a window, and throw the thing away.

Why? The hide provides excellent cover from evil mice, and is an excellent spot to rub up against when she sheds. Other than that I agree, throwing the log away would be nice, but she likes it.

    Hi,

Because there will be times when you need to get her out and it's better to plan ahead and have a hide where you can always get access.

I made the same mistake myself with a bit of chola wood - snake loved it, I grew to loathe it.

Took me two weeks to finally catch him outside of it so I could remove it.

You see the issue you're having with the log right now. Why go through this every time your snake is in the log and you want to hold them. Throw the log away and buy a more traditional hide. Your snake will still have the security and convenience as the log, without the bothersome issue.

    Good Luck!
