Need thoughts on P/K rats

Any one have any quicker ways to kill the rats other than freezing or wacking them? I don't have a deep freezer and don't really want to wack them. I heard some people use a baking soda method... Could some one explain that?

from what i understand with baking soda and vinniger you put them together and it creates CO2

so you put that in a cage with no ventilation with the mice of course don't let them get to it haha but so they breath it in then they just fall asleep


however a method i know works 100% is dry ice that puts them to sleep very humanely!

If you have a thick pair of gloves. I've seen people hold the young rats by the base of the tail, then grab the head with the other hand, next they pull hard and quick on the tail while holding the head. Dislocates their spine.

To me it's just easier to let the snake do its job.

I have a rescued female that was attacked due to her previous owners negligence, she'll only take P/K. My male eats live though.

And I tried this method once... Degloved the tail Obviously I held it too close to the tip. I felt awful cause the rat didn't even die.

Here's my method that works incredibly well for small numbers.

Drill a hole in the top of a moderately well enclosed pitcher or similar small container--the hole should be small enough for aquarium airline tubing to fit snugly. Take a 1 gallon baggie and push the airline tubing through a corner of the baggie. Put a few table spoons of baking soda in the baggie and a cup filled with vinegar in the baggie and seal it. Then, tip the cup a little and let some C02 be generated. Do this a couple times and when the rat goes to sleep, pour the rest of the vinegar onto the baking soda and fill the container. wait 5 minutes and you're done. The WHOLE process, start to finish with full setup and cleanup takes less than 10 min and costs next to nothing, plus the things you need can be stored, unlike the dry ice method...
