A guy on craigslist is selling a het albino female ball python. well what got me saying and i quote in the post

"I have also a female early 09 %100 Het albino (proven genetic markers) 2.5ft ball python kitten tame pounding on medium rats".

two things puzzle me about his post.

1 an early 09 eating medium size rats
2 het albino ( proven genetic markers)

is it true het albino ball pythons have genetic markers? im 99% sure this statement is false.

The only morph that I know of that has "genetic markers" ( and they are not allways true) is Pied. I would call BS on that one but I could be wrong...

Technically the morphs that have a super like Pastels are visual hets for their Super Pastels and could be considered a "genetic marker" but that is kind of a stretch if you ask me.

    Thanks

Proven means they have proven the markers on that animal to be a 100% never fail trait for het albino.. the only way to know this is those animals are "PROVEN" would have to have produced albinos.

long and the short run.. they are telling you a lie.

You would also have a 100% het albino from breeding an albino to a normal.

an early 09 female could breed this season if you really pounded her with food...

But I would be inclined not to believe the ad.

I have a hard time believing an '09 is pounding back medium rats. My '08 is still on small rats.
