    New rescue need thoughts

I picked up a rescue red tail supposed male had to buy him from the pet store for 40 bucks with layers of unshed skin dehydrated so bad that his scales are wanting to come off and I can feel every bone in his body.....I am doing everything I can and documenting everything to ensure that this place gets shut down but what would you guys do to help with shed and dehydration on such a weak baby that wants to fight

I would let it soak in lukewarm water either in the sink or a bit of water in a tub. then the shed should come off. keep fresh clean water in the cage with it. Good luck I hope you turn it around.

    Have a look through this

seems like warm water is your best bet.

and that sucks you had to pay for it!

That sucks, and Im sorry to say, but be careful with bringing home Boas from shady places, if it has IBD you might end up killing alot of your pythons and other snakes.

    Re: New rescue need thoughts

I would start off by feeding him every 14 days and slowly work him into a 10 day schedule in case he still has a sensitive digestive system and regurges. Some babyboas are fine with being fed every 7 days and some need more time between feedings...

I agree, a good soaking in the tub should work wonders. Check out this thread about bad sheds. http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/s...ad.php?t=43403

I did this for littlefoot during his last shed and it worked wonders.
