Thank you for the well wishes, everyone. She's really a great girl. I will keep you guys updated and hopefully I'll have some drastic turn around pictures in a couple months

Poor sweet baby. My heart just breaks for her.
I'm so glad you got her and are giving her a fresh start. Hopefully with love and care, she'll come out looking much better. Please keep the updates coming, perhaps one day I'll be in a position to rescue as well.

That is such a shame! I hope she don't lose her eye... I've seen some where they get so bad they just shrivel up and fall out of their head, for the lack of better words. Good of you to take her in though.

Re: Rescue....Manasa (Somewhat graphic pics)
The eye is hard and shriveled, it most likely is not viable anymore
Thank you again for all the well wishes. I was looking at her again tonight and it looks like she is trying to get scale rot, too. I have a feeling this vet bill is going to be a doozy time for me to take some emergency art commissions, haha.
I am so tired of parents buying their kids animals and then not being prepared to care for them when their children lose interest. While I know that what happened to Manasa was not malicious or intentional, it kills me that they just didn't bother to do the research. The information is out there and it is so readily available, there is no excusing it. I know they have internet, because I was in constant email contact with the mother.
While I am very grateful that the mom took responsibility and gave Manasa to me despite her children's wishes, I wish she had done it sooner rather then let her son neglect her at all.
