    shedding often?

one of my BPs just shed about 2 months ago and shes now shedding again. Ive never seen them shed this often so im confused. She was eating for awhile and now she has eaten for the past 2 weeks but i dont see how that would be enough growth for a shed. Also shes at least 2 years old if that matters, but im not of actual age.

i know its prolly nothing but i wanted to be sure.

    thanks for any help.

Curiosity bump...Wyatt just started showing all the signs of a new shed, and it has been even less than 2 months!

Interesting topic that had me looking into my records. I looked at records of about a dozen of ~2yearold (subadult male and females) they all averaged 5-7 sheds yearly . . .. every 2 months. Mind you balls thyroid activity will increase with trauma (cuts wounds, etc.) to correct the skin. and will decrease with age. for example my 11 year old girl has shed 4times yearly since 07' and 5 times in 06' whether she layed eggs or not. So from this end every thng sounds good with your snakes. happy herping

    Re: shedding often?

My younger snakes will shed about once a month. When they get older, they shed less often because they grow slower.

Shedding every 2 months or so is not unheard of. They shed as needed. Now if your snake has just finished a shed cycle last week and was shedding again, then that might be something to worry about.

Mine tend to average about every 45-60 days or so... Yours sounds normal to me...
