Trying my hand at breeding mice, How many females to males to put in the bin, also I have some aggresive males, is it best to not try to use the aggresive ones as breeders, will the babys turn out like that, Thanks.

Re: Females to males ratio
Depends on size of the bin, i use 1 male to 8 females.
All mine are nice and not aggressive, i feed off the aggressive ones

I have the freedom breeder racks and I do 1.6, but we pull lots of pinky and fuzzys.

Sorry to hijack your thread, but just to check, how big the tubs you guys are using for 1.6 or 1.8 breeding?

Re: Females to males ratio
Im currently using 2 20 qt steralite tubs with holes drilled in them, Plus I just finished a steralite modified drawer unit, No water valve systems in either of them yet. Just the old school water bottles.

I use the 8"x19.75" x3.5" these are racks with water and food all the time. Now 1.6 is to many if you are breeding for weaned mice. We thin them out by pulling pinky, fuzzy, and hoppers when we clean to sell to the stores and zoos. If you were going for weaned or hoppers in this size tub, go with 1.4 or maybe 1.5
