Lesser Has Become A Maniac
I don't know what has happened to my female Lesser, but after her last shed she has become a little devil. She hisses as soon as I pull out the tub from the rack. Get near her and she sounds like a hissing machine. Let her get into a striking position and I can be bit as many times as I put my hand within her striking zone. Once I do pick her up, she stops hissing and striking, but she is very active. Set her down, and she gets into a striking position immediately. Try to pick her up and she strikes.
I have noticed she is extremely head shy. I do mean EXTREMELY head shy. She will jump back everytime she is put into a position to have her head touch anything.
She is eating fine. Plenty of weight gain. No indication of stress. Temps and humidity are fine.
Any ever see anything like this happen as quickly as this?

She's a late 09. Weighs in at 230 grams. Great feeding response of course.

Come here little guy. You're awfully cute and fluffy but unfortunately for you, you're made of meat

I mean I say just rule out all possible husbandry issues, do you handle her on a regular basis or has she not been handled recently, or is it possible that she is being overhandled that could be stressing her out? My new hatchlings have been hissing and striking but I think its because they are getting used to a new home and also havn't fed yet, but for the first day I got them, they seemed very sweet so we will see what happens after their feed.

She's handled a few times a week, depending on her needs. Temps, and humidity are fine, she has an appropriate sized hide, has a waterbowl, everything seems to be fine. None of my other snakes are acting this way. I have an 09 male Pinstripe about the same size and he's acting fine. I guess she's just showing me who's in charge.
I think everything will be fine, it's just interesting how it started right after her last shed.
