Red face Paranoid.. or is this abnormal??

My Dumeril's Boa Girl Naomi is worrying me to sick. She's my baby, and my favorite of my snakes.

I got home, watered all my animals and went to check on her. She's in shed, but when I went to pick her up, she wasn't herself. She felt more lethargic than usual and didn't give me her surprise jump that she normally gives when I first touch her.

I figured this might just be because she's in shed and a little weird..

But then, I looked at her neck.. Her neck looks more swollen than it should be and I opened her mouth and didn't see anything TOO weird, but also, it doesn't seem completely normal to me.. Can you see anything out of the ordinary?

Thank goodness my mom could help me take that picture!

She ate a medium-large rat last week, and after feeding her she had a bit of aspen stuck in her mouth that I pulled out. I didn't see anymore other than that, though. I'm worried she might have a piece stuck in her throat.

She always gets a noticeably pink tummy before she sheds.. always tricks me into thinking she's burned, but I don't think that means anything.

A vet visit may be in order, but I'm going to wait until after she sheds. There is no sign of a respiratory infection, no breathing issues or mucus. Vet bills won't be too much of an issue unless it means surgery, in which case, I can't do anything. :'(

    Her mouth looks clean.
Just keep her temps right. See how she is after shedding.
Hopefully someone else has some input about the bulge in her throat.
    Keep us posted.

Everything looks ok to me. Her throat looks a little blown out in the first pic, but that is most likely because she's in shed. I agree, let her shed out and then check her again.

Thanks a lot Jimi! That makes me feel much better about it.
