i thought an ovulation was supposed to be pretty obvious...

...but i can't tell! is this it? (photo overload, too lazy to go through them all)

all the photos i've seen of other peoples snakes ovulating the snake has been laid more flat out, not curled up in a ball like Merangue. i wish she would move, i want to change her laybox substrate. those rocks sure can't be comfy!

When is the last time she fed? It looks like an ovulation to me though. Congrats.

What did you breed her to?

yeah, that's kind of what i figured. everyone else's photos have been like WOW THAT SNAKE IS MASSIVE! when looking at her today, i can tell she's DEFINITELY bigger than yesterday, though.

Not that I'm qualified enough to tell you either way, but it looks like some serious building to me, not like an ovulation. Seems a bit high to be an ovulation. Again, I could very well be wrong. Either way though, it looks good for you on the egg front!

    Cheers,

R.I.P. Steve, I'll miss you more than you could have ever known. I love you.

Re: i thought an ovulation was supposed to be pretty obvious...

i hope she gives us some eggs. my amel corn snake just laid a batch of really gross slugs, and it looks like she may be egg-bound...

:'( i'm so upset. though, hopefully it's too early to tell. she started laying her slugs at around 1am last night, and as of now she has a BIG bulge near her tail, that to me, doesn't feel like an egg/eggs. i am so distraught.

    whoops, hijacked my own thread.

she was bred to a pastel and a spider. she has refused food for the last 2 sundays, so i think we're finally gettin' close

Im not an expert so take my opinion with a grain of salt. Haha. But there is some building no doubt.

Look at her belly scales by her vent. If they are creased in the middle she is ovulating. Looks to me like she may just be getting ready still.
