How do YOU guys keep your humidity up?

I used cage carpet as a substrate, I've tried other substrates before and they just didnt work out for multiply reasons, I have a pretty big water bowl full of water, 2 huge sponges that I soak multiple times a day, and I spray his cage down often and his humid is still only around 50, and it drops as the water evaps, I keep the top of his cage covered so its harder to lose the humidity if i try to lower the temp the humidity goes up, but the temp drops to like 70 and lower, what can I do guys?

I use tubs and I never have to worry about humidity. If you are having that hard of a time keeping humidity and temps up, perhaps switching to a tub would be a good idea?

    What size tank is this?

50% humidity is really not that bad though. It should be between 50-60% normally and closer to 70% during shed.

I have a largeish bowl in the middle of the tank, half over teh uth half not. A heat lamp hits part of this water also.
I also cover half the screen roof with a towel.
    Being in Florida helps too

I have a harder time keeping my humidity down, actually. I need to drill some more holes in my tubs.

It is not advised to lower temperature to meet humidity needs. You must be in one heck of a dry environment.
What are you using to measure humidity by the way? Maybe that is the trouble.
You could change your substrate to something that holds humidity better. You could cover the tank better maybe? I keep a towel over top. It might also be an issue if you are opening it up several times a day. Whenever I open my tank, the humidity drops to like 15 or 20%. You could also inch your water bowl over the uth. Once upon a time I had humidity trouble. Since I inched the water dish closer to the uth I have had no problems. I just close the tank back up, put the towel on it and humidity goes back to 50%.
Good luck, you just gotta mess around with different ideas till it works.

Try getting rid of the heat lamp. They are actually very drying, it couldn't be helping the issue.

Edit: Nevermind, just noticed it was a different post who had the heat lamp.

A damp towel on placed on top of the cage keeps humidity up for a perfect shed every time.

I use a reptile humidity pad.

Its this gelly stuff in a bag that you soak over night and it soaks up a bunch of water and you just leave it on the hot side of the tank. The heat slowly evaporates it into the perfect amount of humidity. It lasts about a week or so before having to remove for a nightly soak. But its SO much better then a sponge that you have to refill every day or so.

I also use a mister to spray when needed, like when the humidity pad is almost flat (out of water).

I don't think I've ever heard of these before. Sounds like a neat idea.
