    Birtha's cage

Im helping a friend of mine put this together. Its for a 16ft reticulated python. The original tank was built to be 1000 gal aquarium for turtles. Its made with 2x4's and plywood that was insulated. The original owner then covered the inside with fiberglass resin. It measures 15ft x 5ft x 5ft. There are 2 large lexan windows in the front. We had to cut the tank in half to get through the door so thats why you see the wood in the center. We are putting up a wooden wall with a hole that is going to be her hide. The hole cut for her hide is 18in x 18in. The inside will be painted with Olympic latex enterior paint to paint the fiberglass. The hide will be heated with a 60 watt ceramic heat emitter and the bigger part will be 150 watt plus it is in a heated room. We are going put a strong roof and build a rack system on the top. It will hold 3x 55gal tanks, Up to 4x 40gal tanks pluss the top will hold several 20gal tanks. Ill try to get some more pics up as we get more done.

It is plexi. As hard as she strikes we wouldnt have gotten it if it was glass or we would change it out.

Well remember to, Shes only 6 years old. Shell get well over 20 ft long and around 300 lbs. Plus he may put a berm in there as well. Besides he has 2 pit bulls if some one tries to break in
