There are many caresheets out there. I will say though that they are a more moderate to advanced as far as husbandry goes. They require much more humidity than balls or other boas, upwards of 70%+ constantly. The few people that I know who keep them offline use foggers.

I hear they tend to be more nippy too. I wanted a BRB before I got my ball but I got shafted by the breeder.

I USE A FOGGER TO KEEP THE HUMIDITY UP FOR MY BRB, I ORDERED MY FOGGER OFF AMAZON.COM, MY BRB WAS REALLY NIPPY FOR THE 1ST TWO WEEKS BUT HE'S PRETTY CALM, HE WILL ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS BITE AFTER HE EATS & I HAVE TO PUT HIM BACK INTO HIS CAGE.

He might still be hungry, just a thought.

    Re: brazillian rainbow boa

If you know how to take care of a ball python properly (heat source regulated with a thermostat, good thermometers, good humidity) then it is fairly easy to take care of a BRB. The main thing is humidity. lots and lots of humidity. All the time. They are basically immune to scale rot so don't worry about getting everything nice and damp. I try to keep 80-90% humidity all the time. I mist once at night and once during the day if its dry.

I keep my hot spot at 83* (don't go higher then 85*) and my cool side in the low to mid 70's.

Whatever you do, do not keep your BRB in a tank. It just won't work. Glass tanks, screen lids = basically no humidity. I bought a very nice reptile cage from boaphile plastics for $60. It will last her another year or so before I need to upgrade but it hold humidity very well and looks great too!

    Here is my BRB setup:

As for babies being nippy...I have not had any problems with my little one. Then again, I only handle her about once a week. I have never been bitten by her or any of my snakes for that matter (it is only a matter of time now!).

    Re: brazillian rainbow boa

I've had mine for about a year and a half. If you have big enough water bowls and a "moist" hide, then you shouldn't have to mist or have a fogger. I have two water bowls in a 32 qt container and a moist hide and my humidity stays around 80%. Young BRBs need 95%+ humidity. But I've read that as they get older then 80% is fine, and mine are obviously doing fine at 80%. That said, I would classify them as an intermediate snake as far as husbandry. I spend much more time on their husbandry than the ball pythons.

One of mine was nippy as a baby and the other has never even struck at me. So I think it just depends on the snake. These snakes are nothing like ball pythons though! They are much more active when held, and NEVER have eating issues!! It is so nice to just toss a rat in there and it get gobbled up!

    Re: brazillian rainbow boa

With a few inches of cypress mulch and a larger tub w/holes drilled in it for our housing, we have no problems maintaining 90-99% humidity, spraying only lightly and churning the mulch every few days. This is in a climate where the regular ambient humidity is maybe 15-30% on average most of the year.

We've only had the snake itself for a short time, but the cage has been set up for a much longer while we shopped for the right one.

Our baby hasn't been nippy at all, though we've only handled it maybe three or four times.

Yeah the rainbows require a lot more humidity and probably a bit less heat than a ball, but other than that they are easy to keep !!!!!
