Well, I had my male leucistic Texas ratsnake "Zephyr" out on the mirror for some pics. He had just shed, and was gleaming white, so I thought, why not? Haven't photographed him in awhile. Well, he was a little uncooperative, and would not be still for a microsecond. Right before I put him back, he did "the nasty". He ejaculated? released fresh sperm plugs? right onto the mirror, and smeared it. And trust me,it's not urates, or poo, or anything like that.... I KNOW what this is. This is also not the first time this has happened to me. I had a male rosy boa a few years ago do the same exact thing. Geez. When I first pulled him out before our little photo shoot, I thought, "Wow Zephyr, you are one sexy snake!" Well, I have decidedly changed my mind on that one.. Has anyone else ever come across this kind of incident? And why do they do that? I know it's probably a rare occurrence, but geez!
