    Help?!

My male blood right now is in a 55g tank with a towel covering most the top. He's in there because the tubs around here I cant find one big enough for him. We have 2 41 qt tubs and 2 106 qt tubs but they both aren't the long ones so guessing they won't work. In his tank he has a huge hide he fits in and a waterbowl to soak and drink his substrate is newspaper. The ambient temp during the day is like 85 to 88 at night its 79 or a little less. Humidty sticks around 75. Problem is I never see him come out of his hide to drink. He will stick his dead out and move around, just doesn't drink or soak. I've even removed his hide for an hour to see but maybe I just never catch him doing it. He eats great every week and when we first got him home he soaked for like a day and never came out of his bowl.

They are not active snakes, and the daytime temp of 85-88 is a wee bit high,
80-85 would be prefferred...If he's eating regularly hes " LIKELY" drinking too and its not being noticed..Is my thought..
They are a species that LOVE their water and will consume good amounts,
But they're also somewhat picky and like it to be fresh..

    Re: Help?!

Theres places online you can find big tubs, including the VE175 tubs.

Like Tim said, AMBIENT temps of 85 to 88 is HIGH.

Ambients shouldnt be much more than 80 to 82 with a hot spot no higher than like 86.

Fresh water every other day is what I do.

I'll also get them out from under the paper sometimes when I give them water and a lot of times they'll take a drink. Otherwise, they will almost always drink after eating.
