No Luck & Late in the season!!! :(
Hey Guys,
I recently just got all my ball pythons back from a good friend of mine & i've figured out whats what for sex's.... I need some pointers on how to get my pairs to get freaky! I've tried all the right cycling & everything, but nothing! My one male is producing sperm plugs right now & i'm trying him with a few females, but nothing... no locks?! Whats wrong with him? Any pointers on how to get them to get the job done would be awesome!
First year breeding Ball Pythons & No Luck yet!
I've even tried the shed method and nothing! Arrrggg!!!!
POINTERS PLEASE!
My male bee is sitting around 900 + grams, Female he's with is 2300 grams... My Male Mojo is sitting around 500 grams, Other females are good to go in weight as well.... My bee is indeed producing sperm plugs, I've cooled them yes... Temps are back up in my friends reptile room tho now! I know i'm late in the season, i've been trying to get them to go, but nothing for a few months now.. lol
One thing we noticed when putting my male bee with my big female, Is that he had his " PRIVATE " Parts out the whole time moving around the female....lined right up beside her, even seen some tail wagging..... then we left the room... My friend says he hasen't seen anything yet so far ! So maybe i'll have to wait till next season, unless he's sneeking quick locks during the nights!
Who knows, but i hope one clutch atleast pops outta somewhere! LOL

Re: No Luck & Late in the season!!! :(
Well if the male is clearly showing interest he's in the right mode but if the female isin't receptive, then in snake terms , no means no.
Might just have to let them be for a little while and hope they are getting it on when no one's looking. Not sure there a way to caox a female into breeding mode beside the cooling and/or putting her with anoher female who is actually being bred, that might make the pheremones rub off on her and make her more receptive.

Re: No Luck & Late in the season!!! :(
If you just got them back, moving around and such can cause stress which will make them less receptive to breed. If you are not getting any luck this late in the season, I would wait til next season.

Yeah, that's what i figured, their either doing it at night when we're not looking or this female just doesn't wanna do the deed & she's saying no.... Or the move could have thrown everyone off & i have to wait till next season!
Who knows.. but i hope their doing the deed at night! lol *crosses fingers *
but my male Bee does want to do it.. i know that for sure! i have a proven female i could try him with, because my other two females are Virgins!
