    for All you Newspaper People ????

    For all of the people who use newspaper in Racks, how do you maintain the humidity. Do you spray the newspaper ???? I use aspen now I was thinking about changing to either newspaper or paper towels

    I keep in tubs with lids and the humidity is always next to perfect/next to perfect while keeping my guys on newspaper.

    Keep mine in rack setups, the humidity is always perfect. Sometimes even too high, and I add wholes to the bins.

    If you find yours is to low you can always add a humid hide.


    Just take a gladware container big enough for your snake, put sphagnum moss in it and spray it once a day.


    Or move the water bowl over your heat source.

    I only spray the day I know my snakes are going to shed and they shed out just fine

    Tubs hold in humidity very well, no matter what substrate you use. It is the plastic tub that holds humidity well.

    I use paper towels and holes in my tubs, but i use lids, my humdity is perfect and on my 28 qts i just put the lid on when they are in shed and all one piece!

    Most tubs in racks hold humidity very well. I spray my tubs when the snakes are in shed just to give 'em a little extra... But other than that, humidity is perfect.

    I control humidity by the number of ventialtion holes and the size of the water dish. Works well for me! ~Caylan.S.~

    no problem here with humidity, i do move the water bowl over the heat source when they are going to shed.
