    Hatchling Rack Plans Needed

Does anyone have plans for a hatchling rack. This year I plan on building 2-3 of them. They will be for ball pythons and corn snakes.
    Under Construction.....

no real plans.. its a buncha shelves cut to the size of your bin and attached to two sides spaced the height of the tubs.

It will really depend on the size of the tubs

Instead of a rack for our hatchlings we made a single book shelf all the way around our room with heat tape, a herpstat and 15 qt. tubs about 50 of them. Ours are corns but I think it will work with balls and you dont have to worry about temps being differant from top to bottom. Ill post pics when I get a chance

Depends on if you want something like a 6 QT for a short time or a 15 QT to keep them in for a while. Then you find how many you want on each shelf and then measure how big each peice has to be. Make sure it it not wobly and that it holds in moisture. You can draw and lable a picture to look at while you are building your rack. Snake racks are usually made to have your desired charateristics, so you can look at some youtube videos or some plans in this section for ideas. Then just make it how you want it. Here is a link for one that if you have the right tubs for you can just copy http://arbreptiles.com/cages/rack.shtml

I drew this up not too long ago, it's basically how to cut the 8'x4' sheet of melamine that i would expect you will use for a rack. Holds 50 bins, all 6qt rubbermaids. Alter as you see fit, but hopefully it will get you started. The building is honestly just stack, drill, and drive. 2 racks, 100 babies, easy build. Just have fun with it, it's gonna take a long time hahaha. ~Caylan.S.~

Keep in mind not all pieces of melamine will be 48. Most manufactures end up cutting 48.5 or 49 and some arent always 96 either in length.

DOnt forget if you follow that design to add in the blade width into each cut. NEVER draw your lines all at once or you will have pieces not fitting or cutting properly on the lines.

I kinda forgot to mention all that as well, although I was unaware of the odd cut sheets. But I figured in blade kerf would basically come from the little bit at the end of each sheet. I generally measure one cut at a time, and then measure again from the previous cut before I cut again, but I guess I should have said this as well. Thanks for bringing this up, ~Caylan.S.~
