Hi All

Was wondering if any of you notice a change in the general behaviour of your males when they are in the act of copulation.

Reason I'm asking is that I 'think' my male spider is getting busy with my normal female. Problem is that their tails are crossed but are tucked under a mass of coils so I can't get a good view of the 'goings on' under there.

This is my first breeding attempt. I have cooled temps down over the past 2 months and then introduced the spider last night. This morning I took this picture

A few moments ago I checked on the pair and they are still tied up. I tried to move the Spider a bit so I can get a good look under there. He did something that he had not done before, which was to hiss and push my hand away with his coils.

So, do any of you have a similar change in normal behaviour with your males while they are 'in the act'.

I'm trying to determine if copulation is taking pace without me interfering too much. I'm sure though that in time I'll catch the view I need, just looking for any thoughts from y'all.

Cheers
